About this dataset

Open dataset of annotated DICOM images of head CTA for intracranial aneurysm detection contains 172 clinical head CTA studies in DICOM format, with 82 intracranial aneurysm cases and 90 aneurysm-free controls. The Zenodo metadata describes expert-curated STL aneurysm annotations and per-case metadata with aneurysm morphology, rupture, bleb, thrombus, calcification, vessel involvement, image count, and slice thickness. MedSeg imports all image series, including controls, and rasterizes STL aneurysm annotations onto the source CT grid when geometry checks pass.

The archive is suitable for commercial-use model development under CC BY 4.0 with attribution. Images are full DICOM anonymized and defaced by the source dataset authors.

What you can do with it in MedSeg

Copied cases behave like normal project series — the public image bytes are linked, not duplicated, so copies are instant and take no extra storage.

  1. Copy cases into a project.
Filter, multi-select, copy — reference masks come along if you want them.
  2. Run AI segmentation.
TotalSegmentator, MRSegmentator, nnInteractive 3D clicks/scribbles, or text-prompted VoxTell.
  3. Edit and measure.
Brush, lasso, fill, oblique planes, volumes in ml — in the browser.
  4. Train your own nnU-Net.
Correct masks on a handful of cases and train a custom model on hosted GPUs.
